Andrew Martin is an entrepreneur, Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner(CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) and Certified Global Management Accountant(CGMA), with MS and BS in accounting. Martin has over 38 years of professional experience providing accounting, advisory, audit and tax services to a diverse group of business, individual, governmental, and non-profit clients, as well as being a successful business owner. Martin also has distinguished public service career in Nevada serving as State Legislator, Trustee of College Saving Plans of Nevada, and member of Nevada Economic Forum and Clark County School District Bond Oversight Committee.
Martin’s professional career in public accounting spans 38 years. In 1994, Martin established Martin & Associates, Ltd. a full-service CPA firm, after having worked at “Big 5” CPA firm KPMG in Washington, DC, Spicer & Oppenheim in NYC and controller of a medical consulting firm. Saving taxpayers $1 million per day as employee of KPMG where Martin co-developed a contractor auditing program for shipbuilders for Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

Building a successful CPA firm that provided federal government agencies and public charter schools audit and assurance services. Clients included Executive Office of the President of the United States-White House Travel Office, Panama Canal Commission, Recovery Accountability & Transparency Board, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, and U.S. Department Treasury. Successfully sold audit practice in May 2011.

Profiled in the “Practical Accountant” in July 2004 as “firm of the month” for his pioneering work on tax planning for same sex couples and business owners, enabling thousands of clients to save significant amounts and navigate through complex legal and financial world.

Member, Board of Trustees, College Saving Plans of Nevada (2018-2022): Trustees oversee the management of 529 Plans, Prepaid Tuition Plans and related funds exceeding $23 billion.

Nevada State Assemblyman, District 9 (2012-2014): Served on Health & Human Services Committee, Judiciary Committee, and Legislative Operations and Elections Committee. In that capacity, Martin worked on over 250 major bills addressing accountability and anti-corruption, economy and housing, child protection, and civil rights.

Nevada Economic Forum (2010-2012): Member of independent panel of five experts who review economic and tax forecasts to calculate revenue estimates for the state that become legal spending caps.

Clark County School District Bond Oversight Committee (2009-2011): Served on independent board to provide financial, bond and investment oversight of the school district’s contribution & capital improvement programs.
